Lebanon, Mo to Tulsa, OK.
“Joplin in Missouri”
It was really hot today. Not too many diversion.
Oklahoma State seems to be fairly flat and very green.
It wasn’t until late last night, when we arrived at The Minger Moss Motel (formerly The Munger Moss Motel), in Lebanon did I realise that we were 24 hours from Tulsa. lol.
We had intended to leave early as we have 235 miles to do today if we were to get to Tulsa. However, we left the motel about 9:45 and called in at the library to use their Internet as the Minger Moss doesn't have internet, but does have free TV coz it says so on the big neon sign.
We sat in the cafe at the library and had a coffee, then another, then chicken & mushroom soup with rice and salsa sauce and crackers followed by chocolate brownies. That was breakfast!
It was all brought to us by Maria & Theresa who were really nice and wished us a pleasant trip.
After breakfast and updating the blog, we eventually got on the road at 11:30. Not
a good start for one of the longest stretches of the trip. In to Springfield,Mo stopped at the place were Wild Bill Hickok killed Dave Tutt over a poker debt. Good job we did not bring any cards with us. Homer & Marge were not at home so onward on the big slab through Maxville, Cartage, Carterville, Webb City and on to Joplin. Joplin is the last town in Mo (Missouri) before crossing the state line into Kansas. A small 13/14 mile route in Ks normally but for us about 30/40.
Stopped in Riverton, Ks for a quick snack just to be able to say that we have stopped in Riverton, Ks for a quick snack. Dorothy and Toto were nowhere to be seen in Ks, so in and out like two meercats and on to Tulsa, Ok (Oklahoma). Kev's undies were now dry after been washed and hung out in the back of the car. (And that's why we were getting those funny looks and horn beeping.) Took Max's top down and we both creamed ourselves... with sun cream.
We tend to update this blog when 1 of us is not on the bog (restroom). So bits of that were mine and bits were Boley's. Figure out which bits are which.
Back with me.
Not much more to add for today's trip. We saw a blue whale in Catoosa and drove into Tulsa about 7 pm. Drove into
downtown but nothing happening so Googled hotels on my phone and found that Brookside was the place to be.
Booked into Praeria Inn Hotel about 8:30. We were told that the bars & restaurants were about 1 mile away. It was so hot that by the time we walked it there we were dripping.
Had something to eat & went to a bar called The Crow where a chap was
singing & playing guitar. He was really good but there were only about 10 of us in the bar. However one of them looked like Daisy Duke. Boley was quite taken with her but so was her boyfriend.
Went to another bar and met JW and Heather. Spent the next 2 hours chatting & having a laugh with them (Hi!) and went back to hotel.
No Scores on the roadkill, but they do seem to be getting larger.
The first one we saw was a deceased armadillo.
We knew it was deceased coz it wasn't moving & it was doing a dead fly impression (not very convincingly) with it's 4 feet up in the air.
Today we drove 276 miles but much of it was on regular "a" roads.
"Springtime and the going is easy."
Mileage: 842 miles

Hey you guys. Don't be getting your bits mixed up. I prefer to know what belongs to who so I know what I'm dealing with.
Kev, the invoices are up to date and some decorating has been done. You see, life is so dull here at the moment. However, some weird guy came round and suggested my plumbing needed looking at. I said that it had been serviced quite recently but he said he would call back again with some mates to offer a second opinion
Max,
I thought that you'd know my bits by now.
Boley says he'll show you his bits when we get back.

Tell Boley not to hurry home. he left me with a little bit just before you went away anyway.
Had a good session this evening. Managed to get my legs quite high. My right is more flexible than my left.
I'm glad the footie went into extra time, at least I got to see some of it.
Just got back from taking Maisie out. She hasn't mentioned that she is missing you and doesn't seem to be moping either but it will be interesting to see how she reacts when you walk in the front door.
My folks are coming over on Sat and I am going to have a girls night in on Sun, Friday is still looking empty. What state are you in at the moment and I don't mean drunk, sober etc!!!
